USA Triathlon Announces
Board Election Results

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (July 7, 2004) - USA Triathlon has announced the results of the emergency election for its Board of Directors.

Rob Kasper (Peachtree City, Ga.) will represent the Eastern Region. Jack Weiss (Euless, Texas) will represent the Central Region. Dan Empfield (Valyermo, Calif.) will represent the Western Region and Steve Locke (Colorado Springs, Colo.) will be the At-Large representative.

They will join the sitting Board members: Tim Becker (Seattle, Wash.; Western Region Representative), Brad Davison (Austin, Texas; Central Region Representative), Ray Plotecia (Towson, Md.; At-Large Representative), Fred Sommer (Clermont, Fla.; Eastern Region Representative), Eric Bean (Palo Alto, Calif.; Elite Athlete Representative), Kevin Carter (Silver Spring, Md.; Elite Athlete Representative) and Susie Gallucci (Colorado Springs, Colo.; Elite Athlete Representative).

The results of the emergency election replace those from the 2003 election, which was declared void by a Blue Ribbon Panel chosen by the U.S. Olympic Committee. The emergency election winners will serve until 2005.

The new Board members will become official on July 12. The Board must give five-days notice to have a teleconference and 30-days notice to have a meeting in person.

A total of 4,934 USA Triathlon members voted.
