Report from Rocky Mountains

News/Info

As we speak, the Rocky Mountain Region is gearing toward two major beginner races: the Danskin and the Denver inaugural Tri for the Cure. Celeste Callahan and Team CWW feed both races. At the moment, Danskin, the more well known, has been successful in its application drive. Team CWW is on full court press to give Tri for the Cure a full roster. The newbies are nervous about applying for two beginner races, and mothering is of the essence. Beginner swim clinics have begun in earnest with some initial running instruction. Biking begins later in the month as the weather clears. Virginia Vinyard, our 67 year old MS athlete who has done the Danskin two years in a row in a hospital wheel chair has received, from donations from CWW and the Judy Flannery Fund, the racing wheelchair that belonged to PC star Jeremy Newman from California. Rocky Mountain Regional honcho and the head of Rattlesnake Triathlon Series has remade the chair entirely to fit Virginia. A presentation with media is planned for March 27 during our CWW Gear Swap Day.
