Hi all, On June 1, I competed in Tinman Louisiana in Shreveport. This race was exactly the same course as Age Group Nationals will be on October 4. It is a great course! The bike is on a highway that is dead-flat and is totally closed to traffic. The run is also flat and through gorgeous neighborhood streets with lots of local support. Dozens of residents actually turned on their sprinklers in the street so racers can get cooled off! Besides, by October 4, the weather in Shreveport should be decent. I would really encourage all of you to attend. Also, please talk up the race to your friends, both women and men. Particularly, I would really like to get a good turnout in Shreveport of women! USAT members who live in the South Midwest Region (Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma) do not have to qualify! Simply go to the www.usatriathlon.org and follow the links to enter. Everyone else does have to qualify, but there are lots of ways to do that. The details can be found on the USAT website. Plus, based on the reports I'm getting from Vice Chair Jean McGuire, Ashley Rosilier and the rest of the breakfast committee, we are going to have an awesome all-women's breakfast in Shreveport on Oct 3. You don't want to miss it!! Sherri Wattenbarger
