Stand and Be Noticed The USAT Women’s Commission Report It is obvious from the internal activity reports I have received, that the various committees, of which our Women’s Commission (WC) is comprised, are rejuvenated and redirected. New Clinic Committee The WC is anticipating new women’s clinics for the fall, winter, and early 2002. This to include but not be limited to the following areas: Kansas City, Missouri- TriKC just finished an outstanding Women’s clinic Chicago, Illinois- targeting the Danskin Women’s Tri in July 2001 Missoula, Montana- early 2002 Sacramento, California- in concert with Nike Women’s Tri Clinic in July 2001 Muncie, Indiana- in the fall Arlington, Virginia- winter or early 2002 Chevy Chase Maryland- early 2002 in conjunction with the YMCA sprint triathlon Manual Review and Edit Committee Under the direction of Paula Larsen, this WC committee is updating the clinic and training manual along with the brochures. The final version will be made available on our WC website as soon as possible. Education, education, education. AnnualWC Breakfast/Assembly Committee Co-Chair Liz Dobbins and Vice-Chair Sherri Wattenbarger have stepped up to direct our annual assembly/breakfast at Nationals in Coeur’D’Alene. This year, we anticipate an exciting change in tradition. All women will be welcome to share in the camaraderie. We are working on the logistics for a showing of Erin Flannery’s documentary film, JUDY'S TIME. Current Events/Articles Committee Jennifer Sullivan heads this research department in a quest for continual input on issues targeting medical concerns, health matters, andaging. Also, in keeping up with the general state of women in multisport, this committee writes articles covering events throughout the US.
