History

The Women's Commission embraces diversity in sport in every way from encouraging multi-cultural participation to enhancing opportunities for the physically-challenged. We envision a world where swim-bike-run training is available to whomever seeks it and where the lack of financial resources to acquire equipment is not a limiting factor to participation in our sport. We are pledged to the support of all Olympic ideals. Stronger! Faster! Higher!

The Women's Commission supports a network of women across the United States who contribute each in unique ways to the advancement of women in our sport.

The Women's Commission history shows a spirit and dedication that is unparalleled in sports.

The Women's Commission mission continues to be:
To act as the USAT Board of Directors consult and expert on maters relating to women, amateur, multisport activities that would be governed by the Federation. That charter will grow to include development of resolutions for Board Action, preparation of guidelines and written materials and contributions to the activities of to the USAT Commission and task forces.  We will be responsible for determining and addressing the specific needs of the female multisport athlete.

Goals:
>
Encourage more women of all ages to participate in multisport
>Ensure equality, recognition, and reward for women in multisport
>Expand female USAT membership
>Increase public awareness and interest
>Increase involvement with WC or other nations (ITU International Triathlon Union)
